In an exciting turn of events, BMW dealt away with the 6 Series and re-introduced the 8 Series. For now, the old monicker is reserved only for the family-hauling, rather luxurious way of transporting four people – the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo. However, the high-performance coupes and four-door coupes, namely the BMW M8 and M8 Gran Coupe, are going to be released as part of the newly reintroduced BMW 8 Series family range. But, while we’re eagerly expecting both iterations of the new BMW M8, our dealerships are hard at work in bringing the good old BMW M6 to whole new levels.
The outgoing BMW M6 is definitely a performance machine. Both the coupe and gran coupe are powered by a 4.4 liter BMW TwinPower Turbo engine. In the M6, this rather potent V8 engine delivers 560 horsepower and a maximum torque of 502 lb-ft (680 Newton-meters). In turn, this allows the vehicle some impressive performance. Thanks to a 7-Speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) system, the high-performance machine from the Bavarian carmaker can to sprint from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.0 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 155mph (250km/h). In turn, this is, for many, the perfect luxury grand tourer and a great foundation for an aftermarket build.
This time, a Black Sapphire BMW F13 M6 coupe is adorned with a set of our ADV5.0 M.V2 CS Series two-piece forged wheels. For this build, we’ve machined the wheels in sizes of 21×9.5 in the front and 21×12 in the rear. The customer went with a Gloss Black Brushed and Gloss Black Polished finish combination for his wheel centers and lips, respectively. Furthermore, the wheels come with a 50/50 Exposed Hardware Titanium option. Talk about a blacked out look right there! And to make matters even better, the vehicle features yellow carbon ceramic brake calipers which, alongside colormatched wheel bolts, make for that perfect finishing touch for this build.
