With the advent of 2017, our engineering and design team was hard at work in Miami. The team ventured towards an evolutionary step in the world of high-performance forged wheels. The work was under way in a simple, unobtrusive building located on the outskirts of industrial Miami. This is where the design offices of ADV.1 Wheels are located. The facility includes the technical, engineering and production departments that create some of the most compelling wheel designs available on the market.

This is where, behind closed doors, some of the most important developments in the wheel world continue to emerge, thus giving sports, luxury and supercar owners a perfect finishing touch to their aftermarket builds.

This is where the ADV.1 Advanced Series was born. Created in order to cater to the utmost demanding customers and applications, the Advanced Series is our most engineered and strength tested wheel line to date. This new Series is raising the industry standard in almost every category imaginable: from aesthetic wheel design & strength testing, right down to the wheel packaging. Every traditional step involved in creating a wheel line was rewritten in order to advance what is currently considered premium in the high end exotic and luxury car world.

For this series, our primary goal was to continue the evolution of our wheel lineup. Thus keeping the familiar design and feel of current wheels, matched with our desire to incorporate several technological advancements and improvements was among the key goals of the task ahead. Consequently, the ever-so-familiar design language of the iconic ADV.1 Wheels is once again instilled throughout the design aspects of this new series. The result is a while line that’s technologically advanced, lightweight and strong, but which keeps the familiar outlook that our customers love and appreciate.

The ADV.1 Advanced Series features advancements like the 100% full titanium assembly hardware instead of steel. Our advanced engineering & testing allows us to utilize back pad pocketing and reduction drilling, combined with milled weight reduction spoke windows, all to improve weight savings and lower the unsprung mass. In turn, the wheels make a positive impact in both handling and performance in various high-performance driving situations.

Just like any other advancement in the automotive world, this high-tech approach will yield the improvements to trickle down across the entire product lineup. This will include significantly improved packaging, quality control, testing and other behind the scenes tasks being inputted into every model, configuration, and option for our customers. Additionally, as of Oct. 1st, we are eliminating all usage of steel hardware and upgrading all orders to full titanium.

Once the design and engineering were done, we set out to find the perfect vehicle to showcase these wheels. For one design – the ADV5.2 Advanced Series Wheels – the decision was made to go with a BMW M4 GTS. This vehicle is the pinnacle of road-legal offerings in the BMW’s model range, featuring race-bred technologies, weight savings and a high-performance nature of the vehicle, catering to the utmost demanding customers. It’s safe to say it goes hand in hand with the philosophy our company set out to establish with our ADV.1 Advanced Series lineup.

The BMW M4 GTS is powered by a 3.0 Liter BMW TwinPower Turbo engine delivering 493 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of peak torque. The power is harnessed through a 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic that allows the M4 GTS to roar from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. In a nutshell, the BMW M4 GTS is a race-bred car that utilizes the best from BMW’s engineering and design departments.

For this BMW M4 GTS build, we created a custom set of ADV5.2 Track Spec Advanced Series wheels. With the ADV5.2, we’ve made an evolutionary step in our split five-spoke wheel design. In turn, the ADV5.2 Advanced Series wheels come with spoke design featuring thin spokes with aggressive cuts for weight reduction and aesthetics. The ADV5.2 Advanced Series features bespoke design queues such Advanced Window Pocketing surrounding each spoke creating a silhouette unique to anything currently in the wheel industry. For this BMW M4 GTS build, the wheels are sized 20×9.5 and 20×11.5 in the front and rear, respectively. The finish for these wheels is a combination of a Brushed Liquid Smoke with Matte Clear for the wheel face and Brushed Liquid Smoke with a Polished Clear for the lips. Coming standard with titanium exposed hardware, the wheels offer an intricate design that fits the M4 GTs perfectly.
