If you’re a family man, you’ll appreciate what we’ve got here next. This Nardo Gray Audi RS6 build comes from Race! – a well-known figure in the South African automotive tuning world – and our authorized dealer. Well-known for their work in the world of high-performance automobiles, Race! never ceases to amaze us with the quality or magnitude of their builds. Naturally, our wheels are a big part of what they do and we provide Race! with the best possible wheel design, configuration and fitment for their project vehicles.
This build features a Nardo Gray Audi RS6 Avant with a completely redone exterior, a number of performance upgrades and finally, a set of our wheels. While the project may be considered over the top in some areas, everyone can appreciate the level of customization and detail instilled into this family hauler turned supercar build.
The outgoing Audi RS6 is a fine beast of a machine, to begin with. The production rated Audi RS6 utilizes a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 605 horsepower and 700Nm of torque. Thanks to the impressive Quattro all-wheel-drive system, the vehicle will sprint from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 3.9 seconds. The top speed is limited to 155.3 mph (250 km/h). Furthermore, if you opt-in for the optional Dynamic or Dynamic Plus package, the top speed is increased to respectively 174.0 mph (280 km/h) or 189.5 mph (305 km/h).
Not a bad starting point for an aftermarket build.
The build started off with an addition of a complete DarwinPro DTM style carbon fiber widebody aero kit. This aero kit consists of a front time attack inspired lip spoiler, a set of wider front fenders, side skirts, rear widened fenders, a complete rear diffuser setup and two wings/spoilers in the back. One larger one is installed on the top of the trunk lid, while the other, a bit smaller, is found just below the rear boot covering glass piece. While the second spoiler may be a bit over the top, the resulting look is really good. The next addition will most certainly bring a lot of debate to the table. The vehicle features a set of carbon fiber canards all over the place. While it’s certainly motorsport and DTM inspired, some will scoff at this aspect of this build.
When Race! finished with the install of the aero parts, they’ve turned their attention to the installation of an exposed carbon fiber bonnet, revealing the mighty 4.0 Liter V8 engine below. Furthermore, the vehicle features a set of H&R Special Springs, an AWE Tuning airbox & intake and a complete Armytrix Automotive Weaponized exhaust system. You could say that this beast sounds as angry as it looks.
Naturally, the finishing touch is a set of new aftermarket wheels. For this Audi RS6 Avant, we’ve worked with Race! to create a unique wheel setup that caters to both the high-quality and extravagance at the same time. The customer went in the direction of out ADV7R Track Spec CS Series wheels, giving their powerful family-hauler a truly a unique exterior look.
These ADV7R wheels are part of our Track Spec flagship wheel line. All ADV.1 Track Spec wheels utilize a three-piece configuration, created using our deep concave profile forgings with a modified die designed to allow what we call a “contoured spoke” extension. This feature allows us to engineer each set with spokes specifically following the exact contour of the step lip surface of the wheel, resulting in a look unlike any other wheel out there, and showcasing the lightweight performance to match.
As for the wheel series, the customer chose the CS Series for his build. For the Competiotion Spec series wheels, we create individually vehicle load-specific optimized wheels via FEA Simulation Tests. This results in the lightest, best performing, and strongest wheel that can possibly be made for your car. The Competition Spec Series come standard with spoke cut-outs and lightweight titanium hardware, combined with backpad pocketing for further weight reduction. CS Series spokes have sharp, aggressive, and angular cuts that make these wheels a perfect match for supercars and sports cars alike. Just like this RS6 Avant.
For this build, the wheels are machined in sizes of 21×11 in the front and 21×11 in the rear. The wheels feature a Matte Black and Gloss Black finish combination. Additionally, the ADV.1 logo is color-matched to the pinstriping added to the vehicle. Finally, the customer opted-in for a completely Exposed Titanium Hardware option.
