If you ask any car owner from New York City, they will all tell you that this vibrant city that never sleeps isn’t that good for cars. After all, months of cold weather, salt, and numerous road works made New York into the pothole capital of the world. When compared to Cali roads, the ones in New York are simply appalling. Not supercar territory by any means. However, the allure of the big city lights, combined with one of the biggest GDP per capita, all make New York heaven for supercars.
It’s just how it goes. In addition, the roads in upstate New York provide for some breathtaking setting to let your supercar loose. In turn, it’s no wonder that our authorized dealer from New York, Titan Motorworks, have their hands full with gorgeous luxury high-performance machines like this Ferrari 488 GTB.
Envisioned as a direct successor to the 458 Italia, the 488 GTB is powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, a unit smaller in displacement but one that generates a higher power output than the 458’s naturally aspirated engine. In the 488 GTB, the V8 engine delivers 670 horsepower and 561 lb-ft (760 Nm) of torque.
This results in a specific power output of 126.3 kW (171.7 PS; 169.4 hp) per liter and a specific torque output of 194.8 N·m (144 lbf·ft) per liter – both records for a Ferrari street car. Furthermore, the 488 GTB relies on a dual-clutch 7-speed F1 gearbox manufactured for Ferrari by Getrag, based on the gearbox used in the 458 Italia. This allows the 488 GTB of going from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in as low as 3.0 seconds. In addition, the car will go from 0–124 mph (0–200 km/h) in 8.3 seconds, covering the quarter-mile in 10.45 seconds and continuing to a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h).
Some pretty impressive numbers for a vehicle that weighs as little as this. In turn, this makes the Ferrari 488 GTB a true performance car, ready to tackle both straight-line speed runs and tight cornering situations around the upstate New York’s most fun roads.
This Nero Ferrari 488 GTB is equipped with a set of ADV05 M.V2 CS Series wheels. For this build, Titan Motorworks worked with their customer and chose a set of wheels in sizes of 21×9.5 in the front and 22×12 in the rear – a standard fitment we provide for these cars. Furthermore, thanks to a Matte Bronze finish and a Hidden Titanium Hardware option, these split five-spoke wheels work great against the black exterior of this vehicle.
