The Ferrari 488 GTB was introduced back in 2015 to replace the 458 Italia. This supercar is powered by a 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 delivering 670 PS (493 kW; 661 hp) at 8,000RPM and 760 N·m (561 lb·ft) of torque at 3,000RPM. In the Ferrari 488 GTB, the powerplant is smaller in displacement, but produces a higher output than the 458’s naturally aspirated engine, thus giving it better performance numbers overall. The Ferrari 488’s engine output numbers actually results in a specific power output of 126.3 kW (171.7 PS; 169.4 hp) per litre and a specific torque output of 194.8 N·m (144 lbf·ft) per litre – both records for a Ferrari road car.
Yes, in a nutshell, more torque and more power, less fuel consumption and better overall performance. Ferrari clocked the performance numbers for the 488 GTB in the 0-62mph (0-100km/h) runs at around 3.0 seconds, while covering the quarter mile in the Ferrari 488 GTB will take just 10.45 seconds. The supercar will accelerate to a top speed in excess of 330 km/h (205 mph).
But, enough with the engineering boredom. The Ferrari 488 GTB is a beautifully designed vehicle. It appeals to the average car nut in almost every seemingly possible area. From the crafty aerodynamic solutions, to the styling details, the vehicle is built for both speed and appeal in every area.
Consequently, for most owners, there is only one thing they could change on this beauty and actually improve it; its wheels. This is where we come in, naturally.
