Upon release, it was clear right away that the Ferrari 488 GTB was an evolutionary step from the Ferrari 458 Italia. It featured subtle visual changes on the outside, but the focus was mostly pointed at the all-new 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine developed by for this particular vehicle by the Italian carmaker. The Ferrari 458 GTB’s 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine is truly a state-of-the-art powerplant, coming with somewhat smaller displacement, but at the same time a higher output than the 458’s naturally aspirated engine. In turn, the owner can enjoy an improved fuel economy, better throttle response and a bit more torque, all resulting in improved driving dynamics and fun factor.
In the Ferrari 488 GTB, this engine delivers a whopping 670 PS (493 kW; 661 hp) at 8,000 rpm and 760 N·m (561 lb·ft) of torque. For those that like to crunch numbers, this relates to a specific power output of 126.3 kW (171.7 PS; 169.4 hp) per liter and a specific torque output of 194.8 N·m (144 lbf·ft) per liter – both records for a Ferrari street car. When you take into account the Ferrari 488 GTB’s ability to accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in as low as 3.0 seconds, and you’ve got yourself a perfect starting point for a high-profile aftermarket build.
Even though Ferrari did some tweaks on the exterior of the 488 GTB (clearly visible when compared to the 458 Italia), for some owners, the changes were too subtle. In turn, for some, these changes were too little to keep up with the aggressive high-performance nature of the vehicle. In turn, an aftermarket tuner 1016 Industries came out with their own vision of how the Ferrari 488 GTB should look like. The 1016 kit for this vehicle consists of an all carbon fiber aero part selection, joined together by a custom three-inch race exhaust system and downpipes, all tied into together with an ECU tune, yielding 792 horsepower.
For the Ferrari 488 GTB, the American tuner+s aero kit consists of a carbon fiber front lip and flippers, a set of side skirts, and finally. all wrapped up by a subtle rear trunk spoiler. In turn, while not overly aggressive, the 1016 Industries carbon fiber aero kit for the Ferrari 488 GTB provides the high-performance machine with an understated, albeit classy and aggressive look.
However, for this Prestige Imports build, the most impressive touch is a set of ADV05 Track Spec CS Series three-piece forged wheels. These wheels come in sizes of 21×9.5 in the front and 22×12.5 in the rear. Furthermore, these wheels are adorned with a finish combination consisting of Brushed Aluminum with Gloss Clear centers and Polished Aluminum with Gloss Clear lips.
