When the BMW F10 M5 was nearing the end of its production life back in 2016, the Bavarian carmaker decided to give the high-performance sedan one last special edition model. Called the BMW M5 Pure Metal Silver Limited Edition, it was limited to just 50 units sold in the United States. And according to BMW, the Pure Metal Silver finish on this BMW M5 is the most exclusive finish option offered by BMW Individual. BMW used a unique layering process in order to create a light/dark effect, with hundreds of thousands of “ultra-thin” aluminum flakes glimmering in a special-effect pigment and water-based paint system. According to the carmaker, the limited-edition cars are “completely removed from the regular production process”. In turn, the surface of this M5 can be checked three times to ensure perfection before the paint is applied by hand. First, a Glacier Silver Metal base coat is applied, followed by the namesake Pure Metal Silver – after it’s checked again.
If you thought this limited edition BMW M5 is all looks and no go, you’d be surprised. The vehicle does feature the same 4.4 liter V8 TwinPower Turbo engine found in the “normal M5,” but the Bavarian carmaker added it some power. The engine has been massaged to produce 591 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 31 hp and 16 lb-ft over the standard M5. The vehicle is mated exclusively to a seven-speed M dual-clutch transmission. In turn, it can sprint from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.1 seconds. Since the Limited Edition Pure Silver BMW M5 comes with the Competition Package (which includes a 0.4-inch lower ride height, stiffer suspension, and firmer stabilizer bars) and the M carbon-ceramic brakes and the M Driver’s Package (which raises the top speed from 155 mph to 190 mph) this clearly isn’t your usual M5 by any means.
For the owner of this particular Limited Edition Pure Silver BMW M5, the only thing missing regarding his vehicle was a set of aftermarket wheels. And while the 20″ wheels coming as standard on this M5 are good for most owners, this one wanted to go with something more unique. In turn, he ordered a set of ADV10R Track Spec CS Series directional forged wheels for his build. The customer went with wheels sized 21×9 in the front and 21×11 in the rear. Furthermore, the wheels come with a Matte Black and a Gloss Black finish combination, topped off with a 50/50 Exposed Titanium Hardware option. In addition to the wheels, this BMW M5 features a carbon fiber front lip spoiler, a carbon fiber rear decklid spoiler, and an aero diffuser, completing the exterior additions.
